Dear SkyeLeigh,

It has been such a long time since I wrote... It's been crazy. I have been "away at school" as you always remind me. Spending time with you is limited and cherished beyond belief.

The other day I was scrolling through pictures on my computer and of course I came across dozens upon dozens upon dozens of you. It reminded me that for most of your life I saw you every single week, sometimes multiple times a week. That saddened me. I know how much it hurts me not to see you. And I'm an adult. I can rationalize why I don't see you as much. You however are four. Not so easy to understand why someone who loves you so much and someone who you spent some much time around is now gone. My biggest prayer at night is that you understand I love you & that will never stop. Even though I am miles away & our time together is limited, you are my Monster & that will never change.

Your language and expressions still slay me. You are the happiest, most outgoing, most comical little girl I have ever met... I may be a little bias. The older you get, the smarter you get. Your smile brightens the gloomiest of days.

The little things you do  touch me forever. Sometimes you steal MeMe's phone and text me. Those are my favorite. Cause when MeMe "translates" them it usually has something to do with "I love you" or "I miss you" or "When are we going to hang out?". The last 2 weeks I have had to go to church for a choir, I got to see you for just the smallest amount of time. The first Wednesday night you stopped me in the hall on my way out to give me yet another kiss AND a pink tootsie roll. The next Wednesday night you gave me two coloring sheets that said "I love you" with hearts all over it. Then you refused to let me leave and insisted I take you to your car. Those are the little things that I cherish forever.

You are a strong, giving, amazing little girl. And I am so thankful you blessed my life. You will forever be my special someone.

May your worries me small, your days be long, your lessons be good, your memories be happy, your laughter be big, and your tears be short. I love you forever

Love, Auntie.
